Trypton Media

Analog Fractography and Reactive Environments

It is the mandate of Trypton Media to re-purpose the video medium as an interactive psychedelic
experience. It is the understanding of its principal artists that the video medium has the potential
to express the most abstract laws of the universe. These same perceptions can be attained through other
paths, yet we at Trypton have chosen the television itself as our ally in attaining and expressing these
experiences. The recursive dynamic, or feedback, is the basis of all fractal function in quantum physics.
The inherent relationship created by pointing a camera at a TV is the basis of our work. The key to having
an audience understand these extremely complicated abstract concepts is not to communicate with words,
but with light, in a live interactive demonstration.

'Nothing is weirder than something real.' -Trypton.

He is a weekly resident at Contour Night Club in Seattle for IMPULSE Thursdays as well as the monthly BREAKS & FREAKS where the best West Coast Breakbeat DJs and producers go head to head with real circus freaks, clowns, acrobats, and fire performers to create as much mayhem as possible. All this while playing at forest, desert, beach, and indoor gatherings, club nights, and festivals up and down the west coast, as well as internationally including the Double 6 in Kuta, Bali and Shambhala Music Fesival in Nelson, Canada.

Driven to take Seattle to the next level, Osiris has been deep into creating several projects. He has teamed up with Infinite Connections to bring the best of Europe’s tribal progressive trance music and world class art to the Pacific Northwest in a series of events called IOSIS Art Parties. As co-founder of the Oracle Gatherings, he is bringing a new paradigm in a growing dance community by integrating with the Northwest’s mythical undercurrent. His collection of sounds expands many genres blurring the lines between Progressive, Techno, House, Breaks and Trance with Tribal Rhythms while his original compositions mix elements of space into the places between genres. All this has helped inspire the release of his all original progressive and downtempo CD, "Reach Within".

Osiris is also a visual artist. His art displays aspects of the journey of the seeker finding the truth of his being. The rich and simple symbolism and the faceless human forms invite the viewer into this experience in the mediums of digital on canvas, acrylic on wood, watercolor on paper and pastels on paper.

Amidst all the projects, being a DJ and producing original music and art combined with his spiritual studies continue to be Osiris' focus.

Chris Schmidt Organix / Phantasm
Vancouver

Chris has been djing since the age of 13. Starting off in Victoria, doing a punk radio show on CFUV, the local University Radio station. The founding member of Organix. Teamed up with Dj Wonderbread in the early 90's, they started a club night after doing electrical work at a gastown nightclub. For payment they were offered a free keg of beer and a thursday club night. Thinking realisticly, they realized that a keg of beer would be more than enough alcohol for themselves, they decided to invite as many people down to the club as possible. With the success of the opening night behind them, they decided to take the night a little more seriously. Unfortunately, the opening night with the free beer was more of a highlight of nights to come (we still don't understand why the night of free beer was busier than the nights of beer people had to buy) Still promoting the night, a fellow by the name of Rock Trueman stepped into the club. Wonderbread, being busy with his electrical business, was participating in the club less and less. Rock, the Irish lad from goa began participating in the club more and more, eventually becoming a partner. Using subliminal techniques, learned from advertising books from the Vancouver public library, the night began to pick up. The night at that time was called Revelation, Organix was born when a fly by night new years party by the name of Revelation, failed to occur. On a search for a new name to disassociate ourselves from the fly by night party, Organix was born. Maybe subliminally from an admiration of the trance scene, organix was in some way taken from the Organix Productions of Japan. A 3d graphics production house. Not intentionally we may add... Chris is a no compromise dj, playing full on energy music. Best known for his quirky samples and ridiculous buildups. Trying to take things were you don't expect them to go.

AcidEngine Deliria / Elemental Media
Vancouver

From AcidEngine Page :

"I was part of a few bands in the 90's before getting into producing Psy. As the Delorians (punk/pop) we won a few radio competitions and had a few nice articles written about us, but that wasn't enough to keep the band together. When the Delorians broke up I purchased some equipment so that I could write music by myself. It was around 1996 that my sister first returned from a trip to Japan and introduced me to Psy-trance. I wasn't completely hooked though until 1998 when I experienced my first Psy-trance party. It was a small party maybe 80 people, but it was put on by the now legendary Solstice music www.solstice23.com, and it blew my mind. At that point I began collecting music, and what really blew me away was how many styles of music there were within' the psy-trance genre. Soon I had my own unique style and so I began DJing. My First attempt at writing a track was with two friends from the solstice crew (Zach & Steve (DJ Sinister)) in 2001. We worked on a few tracks together as "Deaf Con 3". Next was a track with another Friend Gil (Deliria) we did a few together a well "L.S.Dream" (145BPM) 2001, and a track we never named but we referred to as "Halloween" (143BPM). It wasn't until 2002 that I had enough equipment that I could start my solo project, and so Acidengine was born. Since 2002 I have completed approximately 70 tracks at estimated lengths of 7 minutes each... that's allot of studio hours. The Acidengine project was basically designed as a forum of self-expression. I have been so moved and inspired by the works of others I had no choice but to put that inspiration to use and create my own music. I just hope my music can move an inspire people the way I myself have been inspired. I make this music out of love, and that is what makes my music pure... "

Goa Pete Organix / GoaTranceMission
Vancouver

Goa Pete is Puneet Krishna (Pete) originally from New Delhi (India), visited Goa for the first time in 1989. This became a yearly ritual for him, attending the wild and crazy parties, which eventually changed his life completely. He embarked upon a quest for some good "Goan Trance", eventually moving to Goa with his equipment and taking up a guesthouse on the beaches of Goa. He was playing at his guesthouse every evening in Goa.

In 2001, He moved to Vancouver from Goa, hence he became famous as "GOA PETE". Searching for some psy-trance in Vancouver, his search ended with meeting Chris Schmidt at Organix. Playing some wicked full on sets at Organix and at outdoor parties, also helping out with the club decorations, Pete became a member of Organix. Pete has captivated party goers with his hypnotic track selection. His sets are always psychedelic mind benders for the nighttime dance floors, to give nighttime trance lovers an ecstatic trance dance experience.

Goa Pete is the founder and promoter for "Goa Trance Mission", organizing annual outdoor festival "Karma" which is essentially a Goan trance dance experience held near Vancouver, Canada.

Transgress Tribal Harmonix / Inject
Vancouver

Transgress is the solo Live PA project of Peter 'Fish' Fisera (also of the live improvised techno band Inject). Fish (a proud resident of East Vancouver) has been meddling with keyboards and wires since the age of 14. Around 1998 or so, something strange happened in his head, and he began to foresake his first love (playing live rock and roll) for making techno; first in the studio only, then with a 100%-live solo downtempo project "Koolatron" and finally morphing into the sequencing-based "Transgress". Instead of the laptop that is commonly the heart of a Live PA setup these days, Fish uses Alesis MMT-8 hardware MIDI sequencers from circa 1989, along with a large array of both vintage and recent synths and drum machines. The result: techno, breaks, tech-trance, or downtempo; melodic and trippy, sometimes chaotic but rarely abrasive, and with an emphasis on original synth sounds rather than the expected.

Since April 2002, Transgress has played gigs at: outdoor gatherings with the Tribal Harmonix crew (and various members of the extended tribal family, such as the crew that became Episode 13, the creators of the In:Vision festival), on an East Van basketball court in the middle of the day to "raise hemp awareness", in the basement of Organix, in the Vancouver Planetarium as part of The Listening Room multimedia event, the infamous Orange Party, in a glow-in-the-dark bowling alley, smack in the middle of Commercial Drive... and yes, in the smokey clubs and late night warehouse parties where you usually find such music

JAY MICHAEL Area709
Vancouver

Ive been heavily into music ever since i can remember. Growing up on rock and metal i always found myself attracted to the darker sides of music of all genres. I made the transition to electronic music in the mid 90's evolving out of the likes of Tool, Nine Inch Nails, and Radiohead. After the hey day of rave a few particular genres
seemed to really sit close to my heart. Some of the darker elements of progressive house and psychedelic trance.

I began djing around 97 and became heavily addicted to the smell of new vinyl. After a few years of developing my skills i began playing underground parties in Calgary Alberta. Eventually forming a special bond with a few other like minded dj's in the same city. We eventually developed AREA709.com. Wes Straub, Darvin Knorr, Rusty
Ezard, Norris Lam and myself worked to establish AREA709 as a premiere collective of dj's artist and producers.

We have been active in the electronic music scene throwing events and dj'ing all over Canada and the Western United States. I moved from Calgary to Vanouver on the west coast of British Columbia in the summer of 2004. I soon became involved in the west coast scene playing many events over the last few years. Ive been so very
fortunate to stand in front of so many amazing faces at many different events and festivals.... to share my love of music with so many people who also share that same love is truely a gift. Im so very excited to see you all on a dance floor some time in the furture.
